Mike Whitaker
Michael G. Whitaker is a senior aviation executive and former Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), as well as former Deputy Administrator of the FAA. In his leadership roles at the FAA, he helped oversee the safe and efficient operation of the world’s largest aerospace system and served as the agency’s Chief NextGen Officer, leading the modernization of the U.S. air traffic control system.
Prior to his government service, Whitaker spent more than 20 years in the aviation industry, including senior leadership roles at United Airlines as Senior Vice President for Alliances, International, and Regulatory Affairs, where he oversaw international expansion and served on the Star Alliance management board, as well as earlier roles at TWA. He later served as Group Chief Executive Officer of InterGlobe Enterprises, the holding company behind IndiGo, India’s largest airline.
A licensed private pilot, Whitaker holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
