Dr. Ben Phillips

Dr. Ben Phillips is an aerospace engineer and systems analyst with 15 years in air vehicle design and analysis within NASA. He leads engineering teams across the country in aerospace systems analysis, design optimization, and uncertainty quantification, and is the creator of open-source analytical tools used widely across industry, government, and academia.

His work spans a broad range of vehicle types and configurations — conventional transport aircraft, UAM/AAM, commercial supersonics, and other emerging designs. He serves on technical committees for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and NATO's Science & Technology Organization.

Through Phillips Aviation Advisory, he counsels the aviation and investment communities on technology performance evaluation, systems-level design analysis, and concept-of-operations assessment. He also chairs the Engineering Advisory Council at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Old Dominion University.
